			Nukleare Kontamination, giftige Vegetation und Bioc-Pattern treibt Green Village zu Verzweiflungstaten. Um sich vor Tod und Krankheit zu schützen werden HeLa-Zellen mit Daodan-Zellen kombiniert.

			Die führende Wissenschaftlerin testet die Zellen an sich selbst. Die Symbiose wird fälschlicherweise als stabil gesehen. Kurz darauf erhalten mehr Personen die Zellen. (Pandora, „die Gaben sendende“. )

			Eigentlich soll mit HeLa genügend Biomasse für Massentransplantation liefern, doch es lässt die Daodan-Chrysalis instabil werden. Die Informationsverarbeitung ist gestört. „Negative Stimuli“ werden überinterpretiert. Adaptionen werden viel zu leicht ausgelöst und das Wachstum ist stark beschleunigt. Bloßer Körperkontakt kann Hela-Daodan-Zellen übertragen.

			Konoko ist als Sündenbock für den Rest der Welt viel zu klein. Strategen von WCG und META sehen die Chance die infektiösen Mutanten zu stigmatisieren, medienwirksam in Szene zusetzen. Ein Krieg gegen den Terror, um Wiederaufbau und Zukunft zu schützen. GATC und die Griffin nahe TCTF sollen ebenso geopfert werden.

			Die Quarantäne wird vorübergehend aufgehoben, damit eine „kontrollierte Infektion“ der Satellitenstadt stattfindet.

			Die Verseuchung schreitet immer schneller voran. META erkennt, dass sich der Plan sich verselbstständigt hat und zwingt „Pandora“ das Problem zu lösen. Das bedeutet die Superspreader zu eliminieren, Gewebeproben (Oni-Cluster?) sicherzustellen und so eine mögliche Heilung für den Rest zu finden. Das schließt auch die Jagd von regulären Daodan-Wirten mit ein. Von Schuldgefühlen zerfressen und nach der Gehirnwäsche von META hat „Pandora“ auch keine Probleme mehr damit ihrer einstige Retterin Konoko zu bekämpfen.
