Acknowledged. Next time you <snip> something, be sure to provide a convincing summary right away. Everything you do is OCD by default, remember? --geyser 19:07, 23 September 2008 (CEST)
I thought "Hrm, if it's not public and there's no other support for it on the wiki... <snip>" was enough explanation. Meh, at least we came to an agreement on something, I should just be thankful and break out the party favors. --Iritscen 19:58, 23 September 2008 (CEST)

Registry

"Oni does not create any registry entries..." is that true? I have an Oni version and it creates a registry key in "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software". Should someone correct this? --Lefter 13:07, 3 April 2009 (UTC)

Hmm, never heard of it doing that before. Do you have any info on which specific copy you are using? Such as the plublisher, country, or maybe a screenshot of the install screen? Gumby

Maybe that's an entry Windows creates automatically for the uninstallation routine. Ssg 08:45, 6 April 2009 (UTC)

The installer creates that key ("HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Bungie\Oni") but the actual game (Oni.exe) does not use this key (and it doesn't create other keys either). Neo
Oh now I see it. Lol, I guess I never did an actual install in win7. Gumby

Registry redux

Just for thoroughness' sake, I compared the Registry before and after an installation, and found these differences:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Bungie]

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Bungie\Oni]
"Path"="C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Oni"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SharedDlls]
"C:\\Windows\\unvise32.exe"=dword:00000001

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Oni]
"DisplayName"="Oni"
"UninstallString"="C:\\Windows\\unvise32.exe C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Oni\\uninstal.log"

Confused

I may be a trifle confused, but I cannot figure out from these pages - what with OniXP, C-Daodan, the Eastern English engine, Ian's patch, a slightly modified Ian's patch... exactly what J. Random User who has a copy of Oni should do to play it on XP. I feel this might be better documented in simple instructions for the hard of thinking - as in, the front page could offer a link saying "If you have a recent Windows machine and an Oni CD, do *this*". I can see how it can be confusing. We've let these pages get a tad out-of-date, in terms of not removing old stuff. I will clean it up soon. In the meantime, just ignore Ian's patch and everything else and go straight to the C-Daodan, that's all you should need if you are not using the Buka (Russian) Oni app. --Iritscen 12:58, 16 October 2009 (UTC)

Missing level

Is the missing level 2 from the PC demo still available somewhere? --Document 00:12, 15 August 2009 (UTC)
