Well, (in my opinion) neither Oni's original nor RS's timeline is that much fitting into 2032.
* This point of view is supported by some footnotes of Oni's [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oni_%28video_game%29#Footnotes Wikipedia Article] (following footnotes are from 21 August 2006)
# There have been debates as to whether 2032 is the actual year of the game's setting as the manual has never clearly stated this to be so. It is only given that the World Coalition Government was formed in January 12th 2032, and as the game progresses, the possibility of the in-game storyline actually being set in 2032 gets lesser.
# According to Konoko's in-game diary, November 22 was a Monday. This is true for the years 2032, 2038, 2049, et cetera.
# Officially confirmed to be set in 2032 by Bungie.net's Oni FAQ, although this is still debated due to how tightly the events of Oni would have been packed together, and that the FAQ went up during the Bungie/Microsoft take over.
Some conflicts with the manual:

::So Hasegase invented his miracle in less the 3 years? (The time is bordered by Jamie's death and Konoko arrival at the TCTF.) That seems very less time for such a super project. Maybe he worked on the idea before he met Jamie. The Daodan's origin is unclear after all.
What happen if I take my thoughts into "2032 - today".
* Oni's technology is for 3032 more unlikely (in my opion).
* The TCTF would not be established by WCG but maybe expanded into a secret police.

:: If WCG was founded in 2032 then Kerr and Konoko were already 20 years at the TCTF.
