Hasegawa is the father of Konoko (Mai). Really; very little is explained in-game about Hasegawa as a character, though it is his actions that dictate what happened in Oni. | |||
He was a teacher at a University - Presumably teaching in some sort of science field - and while there, fell in love with Jamie Kerr, Konoko's Mother and Kerr's sister. | |||
It is unclear whether they where formally married or actually concieved Konoko and Muro together. Konoko and Muro apparently are officially recognised by the characters in-game as their children. | |||
After an unknown period of time Jamie "converted" Hasegawa to her political beliefs. That the WCG - and in all probability; the TCTF- were hiding something. Still images from the chapter - Dream Diver's first cutscene, show several protests and Jamie participating in them. As an act of defiance against the WCG - and a quest for scientific knowlege- Jamie and Hasegawa entered the so called "wilderness preserve", where Jamie recieved a scrath that turned infectious, causing great pain to her. The only thing Hasegawa could do was "Ease her pain" at which point a gunshot is heard. | |||
A newspaper that has the headlines "Grad Student dies; murder or mercy" is shown. Leaving us to extrapolate that Hasegawa killed Jamie. | |||
In the chapter - Sins of the Father, Kerr reveals that he and Hasegawa worked on the Daoden project together, but where seperated during a Syndicate raid on their lab. | |||
Hasegawa's final fate remains unclear. | |||
