"Hatnote" is Wikipedia's term for a disambiguation note placed at the top of an article to let the reader know about similarly named articles. A sample is seen directly above. This template serves two purposes: making it easy to have a consistent hatnote style around the wiki, and marking the enclosed text as exempt from page preview popups (a test: the preview you get when pointing to Oni should start with the text "Oni is…", not the hatnotes which point to other pages with "Oni" in their title).
