Mercury Bow
From the manual on the inside CD cover of Oni:
Unlike its low-tech namesakes, this "bow" fires a compressed sliver of frozen mercury at ultra-high velocity. Damage comes both from the initial trauma of impact, and subsequent mercury poisoning.
The Mercury Bow is perfect for long-distance sniping. The fact that it will kill most enemies in one shot makes it good for instantly thinning out packs when opponents decide to gang up on you.
Ammo Type: Ballistic Ammo
Magazine Capacity: 2 Rounds
Fire Rate: 1 round per 5 second
In-game, the Mercury Bow is extremely effective, having the longest range of all the weapons available in Oni, as well as the most lethal "payload", killing most opponents with a single shot. Higher level tankers, however, will take 2 shots to take them down permanently. With only 2 shots per block of ballistic ammunition, the Bow tends to be rather ammo hungry, and will deplete the reserves of the player in short order.
The second drawback of the Bow, is the firing rate. The ammunition must "re-freeze", taking 5 precious seconds between shots, giving the Bow the second slowest firing rate in the game, eclipsed only by the Screaming Canon, which has a comparable rate of one shot per 10 seconds.
