Bots are programs which make automated edits to a wiki. As a user group, bots are not subject to the API rate limit imposed on regular users, but they are run with a throttle to prevent them from flooding the server with edits or running out of control before a human operator can stop them. Bot edits are marked in Special:RecentChanges by a "b" and are also typically marked as "minor edits". OniGalore currently has a single bot, ValBot.
