(rewrote lede and some of the inserted comments; made inserted comments bold to help distinguish them from the original text, and broke out a couple into side boxes) |
(okay, I completely changed my mind, because I just realized that "reins" was misspelled in both texts, and all the other differences make the manual slightly better, so it is probably later than the web site) |

This page is a wiki-formatted transcript of the Oni game manual for Windows. Since the printed manual differs in some ways from the Flash version of the manual available on Rockstar's [http://www.rockstargames.com/oni/main.html Oni mini-site], we have noted the significant differences (and made some important updates) by inserting bold text in brackets and adding a couple side boxes. | This page is a wiki-formatted transcript of the Oni game manual for Windows. The most intriguing | The most intriguing differences on the web site are a couple references to a "rebellion" never shown or even mentioned in the game. Also, the profiles on Muro and Dr. Kerr are found only on the web site. A minor difference not marked below is that the web site omits the word "the" in front of "World Coalition Government". The web site seems to have been intended to serve as promotional material more than a manual, so sections of the printed manual which were instructional in nature (controls, etc.) were omitted from the web site.
The small improvements in the printed manual's text indicate that it is a later draft, and it's possible it was intentionally revised to remove references to a rebellion that never appears in the game.
