The kana for "Blame!" may transliterate to Bu-ra-mu, or "Blam!", but I assure you they are in no way related :-3

Blame! is originally a manga by Tsutomu Nihei; the sorta-sequel is called Biomega. The characteristic style (heavy use of contrast and messy lines, apathetic faces if any. --geyser) is a major reference for Guido (example). The anime still uses a lot of contrast, but instead of the sketchiness there are crisp contours and saturated colors. And that's about it, really. Oh, and there's Wikipedia if you're curious.
