If you want antialiasing, you can't avoid Reshade as it also supports systems that have no alternative method to enable it.
* Install reshade
* Add path of Oni.exe
* Select OpenGL
* Run Oni, enable SMAA.fx and FMAA.fx, close Reshade menu with Pos1 key

For engine tweaks fpsdaodan is the latest version in the evolution of daodan.dll modding. As the original page already mentions Half-combin's contribution, you can simply link to it: Daodan_DLL#Download

I had an installation "Oni demo" for testing and installed AE on it. Months ago I deleted the folder.
Today I copied a fresh "Oni" folder from USB to laptop (at a different location, but shouldn't matter), I downloaded AE and tried to install that AE. The installer did not let me choose the Oni folder, it automatically chose the not existing demo directory. I figured that AE looked up that path from registry (an entry that the old Oni installer or AE made), so I deleted all old Oni entries from the registry. (regedit.exe)
I tried again to install AE and then I was able to choose the correct directory. paradox-01 (talk) 16:12, 5 October 2019 (CEST)

AE should link to wiki pages about Reshade and fpsdaodan

Proposal:

It's easy for people to miss available enhancements.

Preferably, show hints about Reshade and fps on AE's welcome screen.

If you want antialiasing, you can't avoid Reshade as it also supports systems that have no alternative method to enable it.

 • Install reshade
 • Add path of Oni.exe
 • Select OpenGL
 • Run Oni, enable SMAA.fx and FMAA.fx, close Reshade menu with Pos1 key

For engine tweaks fpsdaodan is the latest version in the evolution of daodan.dll modding. As the original page already mentions Half-combin's contribution, you can simply link to it: Daodan_DLL#Download

Well, to be honest, what you're talking about is mixing projects together that aren't specifically designed to go together and it feels a bit strange. I guess I can add a note that there is another fork of the Daodan DLL that the reader might be interested in. We don't have a community release of a Reshade shader that I can point to anywhere, to my knowledge. --Iritscen (talk) 20:34, 1 April 2026 (UTC)

Requirements for Windows

The web URL that AE gives you to install the NET lib returns now a 404. You maybe want to replace that with the wiki link https://wiki.oni2.net/Anniversary_Edition#Requirements As for 2026, installing from the optional features still works. --paradox-01 (talk) 14:55, 17 March 2026 (UTC)

Good point, I'll ask Alloc to fix this. --Iritscen (talk) 15:09, 17 March 2026 (UTC)
See new release of AEI, v2.32 :-) --Iritscen (talk) 16:06, 17 March 2026 (UTC)

Anniversary date

Oni is going to be 10 years old on 26th January 29th January. Will we celebrate that somehow? I know the editions comes out at uncertain intervals but, heck, it will be 10 years after all. --Paradox-01 19:59, 2 October 2010 (UTC)

I believe we should have another release out before then, actually. Maybe this month? --Iritscen 21:07, 2 October 2010 (UTC)
A release should be mostly ready now. Just have to go back to the old crappy globalization of level textures and tie up loose ends. Gumby 21:07, 4 October 2010 (UTC)

Is the install path remembered?
