hello
may i ask you to explain me - what is the difference between non-dat files?
i.e. when i am on pc, i lookup entry id, name and offset in the dat file, and then go to this offset in the raw file and read the data of the entry
how is it on mac?
i thought sep is just a raw with extension "sep" (never seen such file tho)

I suggest you have a look at the PC demo, which is Mac-like and has .sep files.
As detailed in the article here, .sep are used to store some "raw" content.
Thus, some of the "raw" data is stored in the .sep, and some in the .raw
I have no idea what "sep" stands for. Maybe it was "e"ditable at runtime.
As for the actual storage, there's no difference between .raw and .sep

Sorry for not having replied to you on OME yet... "Better things to do" ^_^
My basic suggestion holds: forget the animations for now and go for OBJ...
