GUNNM is much better known in the States as "Battle Angel Alita". A video game was made for the PlayStation in 1998, and was one of the few games besides Oni to feature deep martial arts as part of an action video game; it was only released in Japan. Although James Cameron planned to direct a live-action movie based on this property, he recently stated that he has decided to stick with Avatar sequels until his retirement; at the same time, he doesn't seem to want to give up the GUNNM rights to someone else in Hollywood. Only time will tell if we'll ever see Gally appear on the big screen.
