Ian Patterson began developing OniTools in 2000 based on his reverse-engineering of Oni's demo, making it the first modding tool for Oni. Although OniTools was a crucial part of the early history of Oni modding, it is now superseded by OniSplit and accompanying GUIs such as Vago.
