Corona, Afghanistan, the Russian invasion, Israel and Gaza were quite some brain occupying, unpleasant ''intermezzi''. Societal problems, disinformation, politics, geo politics, war. A lot of things to polish and keep in mind for WCG.

There are myriads of roadblocks when trying to write this story. So many that Caged Birds became necessary as its own story with its own set of notes. And right now I'm worried about the Daodan origin story (the artificial immune cells Hasegawa invented) and the Bioc origin story. It's complicated matter creating believable fiction that is rooted in real world knowledge. There's this feeling that it doesn't turn out good enough. This lets the writing progress painfully slow. This kind of stress leads to creative burnout when it lasts over long time.

Darkening clouds.
 
Very dark. Jamie's grave situated at that lawn. Hasegawa's eyes in shadow.
 
World around Hasegawa becomes almost pure grey colored.
 
Picking up again Jamie's photo. Cuts his fingers.
 
Standing alone in the room. Camera pans out. A mental image of Jamie in front of Hasegawa is fading away.
 
A walk outside the city, a look into the clouded sky.
 
 
Comes home again. Takes pen and note block.
 
Starts sketching and writing. A stack. Black fade-out.
 
 
Black fade-in. Stands in front of the mirror.
 
Greying hair. Face and forehead wrinkles are clearly visible.
 
Punches into the mirror.
 
Outside again, windy and cloudy.
 
Looking up again.
 
Walks alongside the fence they once passed.
 
Stops and looks through towards the ill vegetation.
 
Resting on ground. Darkness. Imagine an oversized, glowing, constantly adapting cell.
 
Eyes are widening. (Or he tries to grab it. One hand on the ground.)
 
Time reversal of wound healing and skin hurting thorn.
 
Family scene: Jamie, Hasegawa, and the children.
 
Trip in a green wilderness. Joking with Muro. Eating sandwiches.

Students join. Kerr joins. Mukade joins.
 
Pensatore joins. Avatara joins.
 
 
Headaches.
 
Arguments with the other scientists.
 
Fist fight with Pensatore.
 
Pensatore and Hasegawa lying at different corners of the room.
 
Mukade and Pensatore also have an argument.
 
Hasegawa screams. This night he sits in the cold winter night and stares into the darkness.
 
Muro is introduced to the Syndicate HQ staff.
 
Hasegawa watching this with jammed fist at the window.
 
Hasegawa's head over a glowing screen. Pensatore leave the room.
 
Pills. Fast motion but clock slows down.
 
Avatara's simulation shows "faster than real-time", factor 1000.
 
More data is seen.
 
Screen shows: "Daodan adaption framework <<Oni>> completed"
 
Collapsing satisfied on the chair.
 
The other guys are seen in the lab checking the data.
 
Cam pans out.
