Time Setting

... but RS is set into the year 2055. Didn't Oni take place in 2032?

Well, (in my opinion) neither Oni's original nor RS's timeline is that much fitting into 2032.

• This point of view is supported by some footnotes of Oni's Wikipedia Article (following footnotes are from 21 August 2006)

1. There have been debates as to whether 2032 is the actual year of the game's setting as the manual has never clearly stated this to be so. It is only given that the World Coalition Government was formed in January 12th 2032, and as the game progresses, the possibility of the in-game storyline actually being set in 2032 gets lesser.
2. According to Konoko's in-game diary, November 22 was a Monday. This is true for the years 2032, 2038, 2049, et cetera.
3. Officially confirmed to be set in 2032 by Bungie.net's Oni FAQ, although this is still debated due to how tightly the events of Oni would have been packed together, and that the FAQ went up during the Bungie/Microsoft take over.

Wird keine diplomatische Lösung gefunden, werden WKR und Syndikat sich gegenseitig zu zerfetzen suchen. Dass dabei die Bevölkerung Leid tragend ist, macht es ideal sie zu manipulieren und gegen den „Feind“ einzusetzen. Wer die Bevölkerung überzeugen kann, hat gewonnen. Dabei stehen sich folgende Aspekte gegenüber: 1) Die WKR hat den Smog zu verantworten, das Syndikat dessen Stärkung. (Die WKR könnte Sturmanderung als nationalsozialistisch-hintergründigen Genozid auslegen.) 2) In der herrschenden Panik kann das Syndikat die Chrysalis als einzige Überlebenschance propagieren. (Wir wissen nicht wie stärk die Verseuchung wirklich ist. Demnach könnte es sich, wie bei der WKR-Gründung, um eine „Technopanik“ handeln.) Problem dabei ist, und wird demnach geheim gehalten, dass nicht annähernd zehn Milliarden Exemplare bereitstehen.

The renewed GATC is a wordplay on Guanine, Adenine, Thymine and Cytosine; it refers to the genetic code.

A GATC-Unit would be Uracil. Mutated versions are Xanthine and Hypoxanthine.

(In fact: G, A, T, C belongs to the DNA - G, A, C, U is RNA.)

(At this time I don't know how much this will be used in RS.)

Guanine becomes Xanthin

So, maybe this is what Daodan's regeneration and mutation skill speeds up.

On the other hand the two types (DNA and RNA) still exist - there is not the one ultimate remaining.

ACGT gives 43 (= 64) combinations, but 20 of them are used only. Would it makes sense that the Daodan use more?

My first thought was that the DC is just an upgrade construction and cannot exist without a host construction, the DNA.
Or is it possible that the Daodan-Chrysalis is more like a organelle? >> endosymbiont
